An important milestone in the promotion of adherence to the UK Money Markets Code.
Our ELAC Portal is an online tool which can be accessed by global Market Participants to continuously train and attest to good market practices outlined and advocated by recognised industry Codes, such as the FX Global Code, the Global Precious Metals Code, and the UK Money Markets Code.
So that we can produce current, relevant and regular content that aims to test the knowledge of the ELAC users, both to the theoretical part of those Codes (terminology, glossary, definitions, etc) and to the practical implementation of their guidelines (through “real life†scenarios built with fictional entities and characters demonstrating a diversified number of roles for Market Participants in all sectors of the industry), ²İİ®tv FMA is constantly engaging with key stakeholders in order to update them with the developments of the Portal.
That is the case for the UK Money Markets Code, initially published in April 2017 with the latest version dating from April 2021, as it has been supported by ELAC throughout the years, given that ²İİ®tv FMA firmly believes it reflects the high standards of behaviour and the best practices expected from Market Participants in the deposit, repo and securities lending markets in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the UK Money Markets Code is recognised, since June 2019, by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, which is further evidence of the importance and high regard of this Code for all Market Participants involved in these markets.
Therefore, ²İİ®tv FMA would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Bank of England, particularly the members of their UK Money Markets Code Sub-Committee, for inviting us to present the ELAC Portal in their October 2022 meeting. We were given the opportunity to introduce and detail the features of ELAC to their members and the feedback received was very positive.

Recently, to enhance the profile of ELAC as a state-of-the-art E-learning Portal and to complement the three Codes mentioned above, our team has been extremely busy uploading additional content to the Portal, such as the:
• The ²İİ®tv FMA Handbook, Our Best Practices and Further Guidance: Reinforcing Industry Codes
• The ²İİ®tv FMA FX Options Course;
• The GBBC Digital Finance Code of Conduct.
