��ݮtv South Africa held its first "virtual" AGM on the 8th July 2020.

Using Microsoft Teams as the platform, the ��ݮtv South Africa Board successfully presented to its membership the status of the association in the country as well as its plans for the year ahead.

As with so many organisations, the impact of Covid-19 has swept through our markets and forced these virtual meetings to become the new normal.

A significant positive of the virtual meeting is the ability to spread the access of the meeting from only 1 physical location, to being available on any corner of the globe.

With this ability we asked ��ݮtv FMA if they would present a global ��ݮtv update to our membership.

We were very pleased to have Kim Winding Larsen, ��ݮtv FMA President, and Rui Correia, ��ݮtv FMA Director of Education, present to the membership. It was very well received and excellently presented, showcasing the new marketing material as well as providing a most informative update on ��ݮtv FMA as a global association as well as on the educational vision and ELAC.

Our membership found this to be of great value and a fantastic way to remind them of the bigger organisation we all form a part of.

We had 3 positions available for nomination:
• Chairperson – the role of Chairperson became available as Roy Daniels was elected to ��ݮtv Africa Chair on the Management Board for ��ݮtv FMA
• Treasurer – Jan Sluis-Cremer’s term as Treasurer has come to an end, he is standing for re-election
• General Committee member

Michael Galatis, previous Vice Chairperson, was elected as ��ݮtv South Africa Chairperson, Jan Sluis-Cremer was re-elected as Treasurer and Tebogo Weer elected as a general committee member.

This leaves the position of Vice Chairperson vacant which will be filled later.

We also launched our new website for ��ݮtv South Africa, this can be found at , updates of previous events, initiatives and the current committee can be viewed on the website.

The “new world” we have all been forced to adapt has sent many organisations into turmoil with uncertain paths. It is comforting that we were still able to host an AGM that was both successful as well as become an access point to the wider ��ݮtv by the inclusion of our ��ݮtv FMA leaders based abroad.
